Obituary
Major John W. Hyson, a former, Dexter and Rockwood business man, was killed recently while making a routine flight in the U.S. Air Force at Goldsboro, N.C. Hyson was associated with the Canteen Service in Dexter in 1946 and operated Hysons Sporting Camps in Rockwood for eight years until he re-entered the service in 1954. He stayed at Knox Manor for a year and later moved to a residence on Park St. He was chief the Wings 333rd Squadron and he was flying co-pilot in a F105 F Thunderchief when the two-seat jet fighter went down on a bombing range. Survivors are his wife, the form¬er Dorothy E. Perkins of Nobleboro, and a son, John W. Hyson, 19, a student at Ricker College in Houlton.
