Obituary	DEXTER - Irene R. Coombs, 83, died January 17, 2015 at a Dexter Health Care facility. She was born June 27, 1931 in Penobscot, a daughter of Harry and Vivian (Witham) Rumney. She was a member of several Episcopal congregations. After lovingly raising her family Irene went to beauty school to become a licensed hairdresser. She was a gourmet cook, enjoyed feeding the birds and made custom built birdhouses. Irene and Edward traveled extensively after retirement. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward M. Coombs of Dexter; a son, Edward G. Coombs of Middleton, Rl; a daughter Diane and husband James Bartlett of Dexter; 2 brothers, John Rumney of Orrington, and Kenneth Rumney of Standish; 4 grandsons, James and wife Teri Hatch of Bangor, Matthew and wife Stacy Hatch of Pittsfield, Daniel and wife Susan Bartlett of Davenport, Iowa, and Joseph Bartlett of Newport; 6 great grandchildren, Shauna, Moriah, Akeem, Jonathan, Eme-lyn, and Madelyn. There will be no services at this time. A graveside funeral and committal service will be scheduled in the spring at the Castine Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
