Obituary
Harold Russell, Jr. 67, died July 1, 1986, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born November 15, 1918,in Exeter, the son of Harold Sr. and Gladys (Melvin) Russell. He attended North Newport schools and served in the U,S. Army during World War !!. He worked at Fayscot and Landis and was self employed as a chicken farmer and a mechanic. He lived 30 years in Ripley and served 13 years as a selectman. He was also a member of the Dexter First Free Baptist Church and a very active member of the Snow Devils snowmobile club. H loved snowmobiling and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Ripley; one son Richard of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Mary Bernier of Lakemont, New York and Amy Russell of Farmington; two brothers, Frank A of Wallingford Connecticut and Irving of Troy, Tennessee; six sisters Bertha ORoke of Orland,,CA; Doris Elkins of Clovis, CA;; Beatrice Pipes of Burkeville, VA; Alice Belgard of Sandaton, VA; Arlene Batchelder of Hartland and Marion Irish of Corinna; four grandchildren. Susan, Valerie, Timothy and Donna Bernier, all of Lakemont, N.Y.; one aunt, Ollive Perkins of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews, Visiting hours were held at Crosby Funeral Hoe, Dexter Thursday, Funeral services were at the funeral home Friday with the Rev. Harold Wheeling officiating. Interment will be at Ferndale Cemetery in Ripley. Donations may be made wither to the Dexter First Free Baptist Church Building Fund or the Ronald McDonald House, Our House of Maine c/o James Coffey 489 State St. , Bangor, ME 04401
