Obituary	Velma Mayo, 777, died March 31, 1986 in Dover after a short illness. She was born in Carroll, March 28, 1908, the daughter of Charles and Augusta (McLaughlin) McEwen. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Mayo of Ripley; one, son Robert of Silver Ridge; one foster daughter, Mrs. Jerice Sinclair of Ripley; an aunt, Viola Trambley of Dexter; one grandson Wayne Mayo of Silver Ridge;;two great-grandsons; three foster grandchildren, several cousins. She was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church, the Ripley Ladies Aid, a lifetime member of the Ripley Grange, Past member of the Christmas Club and Birthday Club. Funeral services were held April 2, 1986 t Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman Mills with the Rev. Carlton Huntley officiating. Memorial services were held April 6, 1986 at the Ripley Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Leon. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery.
