Obituary	Ripley and Hermon--Eugene W. McLaughlin, 78, died Jan. 25, 1982, at a Bangor Hospital. He was born, May 11, 1905 in Cannan, the son of Knights and Ida(Bryant) McLaughlin. He worked for man years as a machine maintenance man for the Bangor Shoe Co., until his retirement 16 years ago. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows in his younger years. He is survived by his two sons, Eugene J. of Newport and Mylon W. of Bristol, Conn; one daughter, Mrs. George L. (Elaine) Greaves of Ripley three sisters Mrs. Angia Ramsdell of Athens, Carrie Pomeroy of Skowhegan and Anna Morrison; three brothers, Merlin of S. Paris, Ival of Louisville, KY., and Bryon of Jeffersonville, Ind; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at the Crosby Funeral Home in Newport with the Rev. Vicki Woods of the Ripley Methodist Church officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mount Rest Cemetery, Athens. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory is the American Cancer Society or to the Ripley Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
