Obituary	Vance L. Wakefield, 74, of 26 Highland St. died December 19, at the Bath hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1910, in Ripley, the son of Herbert L. and Inez Bailey Wakefield. He was educated in Ripley and Dexter schools and graduated from the N.H. Fay High School in Dexter. He married Beatrice Brawn o June 16, 1932 in Dexter. They came to Bath to make their home in 1940. He was employed as a marine draftsman at the former Hyde Corporation for 28 years. He was employed for two years as chief draftsman with Bath Iron Works, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the board of deacons of Corliss Street Baptist Church. He leaves his wife; one son, Gary V. Wakefield of Ripley; seven grandchildren: Funeral was held at the David E. Desmond Funeral Home, Bath, with Rev. William Baxter officiating, interment will be at Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley. Memorial donations may be made to Corliss Street Baptist Church, Middle Street, Bath.
