Obituary	DEXTER - Nancy Ellms, 90, died May 6, 2016 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born July 8, 1925 in Worcester, MA, a daughter of Walter and Elsie (Hinds) Hayes. Nancy served in the U. S. Navy WAVES during World War II. She was a member of the South Sangerville Grange for 59 years and was a past state deputy. She worked in the office of the Dexter town treasurer, Clarence Pierce, and also at Dexter Shoe Company. Nancy and her late husband Guy often marched in Veterans parades. She is survived by 2 daughters, Betsy Burpee of North Anson, and Linda (Paul) Muzereus of Chicago, IL; 5 grandchildren, Michael (Kathy) Ward of Waldoboro, Brian Ward of Hancock, Peter, Mary and John Muzereus of Chicago, IL; and 1 great grandchild. She also leaves a brother, Albert Hayes of Paxton, MA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Nancy was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy I. Hayes of Worcester, MA. There will be no funeral services at her request. Nancy and Guy, who died February 1, 2016, will both be interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with a private graveside service.
