Obituary
CORINNA - Gerry Marshall, 69, died unexpectedly October 1, 2015 at his camp on Lake Wassokeag in Dexter. He was born May 20, 1946 in Bangor, a son of Frederick and Althea (Adams) Marshall. He graduated from East Corinth Academy, Class of 1964. He married Barbara Wyman of Dexter on November 7, 1964. He was a loving father and grandfather who always put his family first, which also included his employees and friends. Gerry was a self-employed entrepreneur all of his life. He raised his family on a chicken farm for 20 years where they all learned the value of hard work. Over the years he owned and operated many businesses in the area. He established Gerrys Used Cars in 1990 and currently there are 4 locations all operated by family members. This is the legacy he was most proud of. He was a member of the Masons, the Shrine, and the Dexter Club. He was an avid golfer and snowmobiler, but especially enjoyed travelling with his wife and going to the grandchildrens sporting events. Every noon he could be seen at area restaurants engaging in one of his favorite past times, teasing the waitresses. His free time was spent at the lake, his favorite place, enjoying the sunsets, family and friends. In addition to his wife of nearly 51 years, he is survived by a son Gerald "Skip" Marshall II of Jaffrey, NH; 4 daughters, Cheryl Shorey of Dexter, Shelley and husband Anthony Rudnicki of Fairfield, Alisha and husband Dr. Rickie Ames of Corinth, Tiffany and husband Robert Poindexter of St. Albans; a brother, Larry and wife Faye Marshall of Georgia; a sister, Althea Wpyszczak of Indiana; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Stephen. Friends called the afternoon of October 5 at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where a Masonic service was held in the evening. Funeral services were held October 6 at the funeral home. Burials followed at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Gerald Marshall Entrepreneurial Fund, c/o Sebasticook, Valley Federal Credit Union, P.0. Box 145, Newport, ME 04953.
