Obituary	DEXTER - Roger E. Farrar, 86, died unexpectedly November 21, 2014 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born May 20, 1928 in Dexter a son of Harold and Ruth (Call) Farrar. He was educated in Dexter schools. Throughout his life he was always a hard worker. He worked on his fathers dairy farm as a child, and later owned and operated his own pulp trucks. He drilled artisian wells, worked as a carpenter and later became a foreman for a large construction firm primarily building senior citizens housing. After retirement he also built several camps to sell. He also restored antique cars, mainly Model Ts, and enjoyed going on a number of national Model T tours. Roger enjoyed fishing and camping trips in the summer. He also enjoyed ice fishing on Center Pond in front of the camp he built. He also enjoyed hunting and shot a large buck only a couple of weeks ago. He collected sap in the spring and did gardening in the summer. He liked to collect antiques, old coins, and feed the humming birds. Roger is survived by 2 sisters, Helen Edgerly of Dexter and Ethelyn Langley of Presque Isle and Florida. He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a loving and caring uncle and was a "father figure" to several family members. Along with his gentle demeanor, he was a man of few words but people respected his wisdom. Roger was predeceased by 2 brothers, Raymond and Galen Farrar. A celebration of Rogers life was held at 1 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Dexter Historical Society, P. 0.
