Obituary	DEXTER, ORONO, PENOBSCOT - Robert D. Fogarty, January 6, 2013. The worlds Greatest Dad and Husband passed away at the Penobscot Nursing Home Surrounded by his five loving children and wife. Bob was born with a song in his heart on February 28, 1929, in Cambridge, MA to John and Catherine (Dempsey) Fogarty. A first generation American, he grew up in Somerville, MA where as a boy he sang on a Boston Irish radio program. Bob graduated from Mount Carmel Seminary in Niagara Falls, Canada and from Boston College in 1953. He enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, serving with the Counter Intelligence Corps. In 1957, Bob began his professional career working for White Consolidated Industries in Burlington, MA, Laconia, NH and at Fayscott-Landis, Dexter, Maine. While in Dexter, Bob was a member of the Dexter Club and served on the school board. Bob went on to work for RMP in Fitchburg, MA, and ended his career working for Dawson-Bradford Real Estate in Orono where he was active in establishing the Industrial Park and was an active member of the Orono-Old Town Kiwanis. Bob married the love of his life Tina M. Strazzullo on July 5, 1954. Together they raised five children and became grandparents to 12 grandchildren. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Tina, and his children; Jeanmarie Reed and fiance Michael Russell of Penobscot; John Fogarty and wife Laurie of Dexter; Catherine Barillas and husband Gustavo of Litchfield, NH; Margaret Llopis and husband Perry of Arlington, VA; Karen Bruaw and husband Jeff of Merrimack, NH. His Grandchildren: Alisa Reed Bouchard and husband Matthew, Emily Reed, Meagan Fogarty Pritchard and husband Edwin, Devin and Trevor Fogarty; Isabel Barillas and fiance Alec Saslow, Jonathan, Trent and Christopher Barillas; Spencer, Madeline and Jacqueline Llopis. Bob is also survived by his sister Mary (Dibba) Lavin and her husband Joseph of Worcester, MA, brother in-law Joseph Strazzullo of Waltham, MA and sister in-law Betty Strazzullo of Mashpee, MA , many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Rev. Dr. John C. "Don-Don" Fogarty and sister Ellen Fogarty, his brothers-in-law Frank and Vincent Strazzullo and sisters In-law Loraine and Adele Strazzullo. The family would like to thank the staff of the Penobscot Nursing Home for their outstanding care and commitment to Bob during his stay.
