Obituary
The town was saddened Friday to hear of the death of its oldest citizen, Mrs. Callie Farrar, at her winters home with her daughter, Mrs. Lincott in Portland. Mrs. Farrar was the widow of the late W.H. Farrar, and has lived nearly all her life in this town. Several years ago they purchased a house in Portland where she spent her winters, still retaining the farm home where neighbors and friends looked forward each summer for her return until failing health prevented. Mrs. Farrar was an ardent worker in the church which she dearly loved, also the Ladies Aid of which of which she was a member. She was an active member of the Ripley Grange and always did her share of the work. Mrs. Farrar was beloved by all and a large circle of friends and relatives mourn her passing. She leaves one son, Reginald of Toronto, Canada and a daughter, Mrs. Grace Linscott of Portland, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Portland, Feb.7. Interment will be in the family lot in West Ripley
