Husband Dies Soon After Wife Elmer E. Cole died Wednesday morning, Jan. 11, at his home in Corinna where he had been cared for by his grandson and wife for several weeks. His death followed that of his wife, Mrs. Miranda Mower Cole, by two days. Mrs. Cole died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Davis in Rumford, after a long illness. A joint service was to be held this afternoon, Jan. 12, at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter, with the Rev. A. Allan Brough, former pastor of the Dexter Baptist Church and now in Fairfield, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Higgins Cemetery in the spring. Elmer Cole was born in St. Albans, Me., Aug. 6, 1871, the son of Lorenza Dow Cole and Melissa Boston Cole. He had lived in Corinna 63 years since his marriage on Nov. 21, 1893. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Dexter and the Dexter Grange. Mrs. Cole was born in Corinna on April 24, 1873, the daughter of William Penn Mower and Susan C. Spaulding Mower. She had always lived in Corinna. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Dexter and the Dexter Grange. They are jointly survived by one daughter Mrs. Eleanor Cole Davis of Rumford, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, Elmer Cole is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Etta Weymouth of St. Albans and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cole is survived by four nieces and one nephew, several grandnieces and nephews, and several cousins.
