Obituary	The community was shocked and saddened Monday, February 23, by the death of Orville McPheters. A resident of Rand Hill, the most of his life was spent in St. Albans and Ripley. He was born in Harmony eighty years ago on March 14th. Early in life he was married to Mary Nutter of St. Albans who was his lifelong companion. A blacksmith by trade, he practiced that business in Ripley for years. while there he was master of Ripley Grange and was eventually presented with a past masters jewel. He was also a devoted member of East Somerset Pomona Grange. Highly respected in all walks of life Mr. McPheters, or "Mac" as a kind neighbor and friend will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held at Ripley Methodist Church on Wednesday. Flowers were beautiful and bore silent tribute of relatives and friends. Out of town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ned Sumers of Guilford. Besides the bereaved wife, there were several nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
