Obituary	George R. Sampson passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday morning, Sept. 14th. He was 97 years of age and died in the same house in which he was born and has lived all these many years. He married Louisa Lane Jan. 5, 1858, who survives him and who was 97 also on last Jan. 5th, their 74th wedding anniversary. They have three children living, Charles Sampson of St. Albans, Mrs. Reuben Henderson of Newport and Mrs. L.R. Decker of Ripley. There are 12 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Friday afternoon, Rev. E. Mercer of Dexter officiating. Interment was in Ferndale cemetery. Relatives from out of town who were present at the funeral were Mrs. Reuben Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Henderson from Newport, Mr. and Mrs. Will Micue and daughter Hazel, Mrs. Susie Crawford, Mrs. Mertie Crawford
