Obituary
George F. Fitzgerald of Oakland died last Monday after an illness of a few days, aged 71 years. Mr. Fitzgerald was a former resident of this town and the remains were brought here for burial. The funeral was held in the Universalist church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Gould officiating. Dr. Fitzgerald was a former member of the Masonic, Odd Fellows and G. A. R. orders in this town and the funeral was under Masonic auspices. His brother, J. H. Fitzgerald of Oldtown, and sister, Mrs. James Rayner of this village, were present. Two other sisters, Mrs. W. F. Caruthers and Mrs. James Baker of Chelsea, Mass., came on the 6 15 train Wednesday evening and the remains were not buried until after their arrival. Mr. Fitzgerald was an upright, genial man, calculated to make friends, and a host of them will mourn his death.
