CHARLES GILBERT Charles Gilbert, about 34, of Sangerville, died yesterday, Nov. 30, at the Veterans' Hospital in Togus. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Gilbert of Free St., Dexter. Gilbert, father of three children had been employed for several years at the Fayscott Corporation in Dexter. Besdies his children, he is survived by his wife, parents and other close relatives. The Eastern Gazette 12-1-1955, p.1 CHARLES E. GILBERT Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville for Charles E. Gilbert, 34, who died last Thursday at the Togas Veterans' Hospital after several weeks' illness. The Rev. John Kenney officiated. Services were also conducted by Stott-Flanders Post, A. L., of Sangerville; Poulliot-Seavey Post 53, A. L. of Dexter; and the 946th T. C.(port) Company of Dexter. Interment was in the Sangerville Village Cemetery. Gilbert was born in Dexter, son of Clement and Flora (Clukey,) Gilbert and attended the local schools. He married Muriel Stearns of Sangerville and the couple had three children. For two years the Gilberts lived in Guilford, and for the past six years have resided in Sangerville, where they purchased a home. While serving four and a half years in the U. S. Army, part of which he spent in Germany, he attained the rank of first lieutenant. He was commanding officer of the 946th T C (port) Company, Dexter. Gilbert had been employed for several years at the Fayscott Corporation in Dexter as a draftsman and tool designer. Surviving are his wife; two sons, David and Dennis; a daughter, Jane; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Gilbert, Dexter; three brothers, Gerald A., Francis N., and Terrenc A., and a sister, Mrs. Anita Sawyer, all of Dexter, nephews and nieces.
