Obituary
On the evening of Dec. 3rd, Mrs. Hilton, or "Gram", as she was familiarly known and loved, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. H. Randall. She had been a great sufferer for weeks, but the end came peacefully. She was born in Harmony, March 12, 1841, the daughter of Nicholas and Dolly Brown, being the last of a family of 12 children, her twin brother Fred Brown, of St. Albans, dying a few years ago. At the age of twenty-one, she as united in marriage with Jonathan Hilton of St Albans, and lived all her married life in that town, where she was universally known and loved. On the death of her husband sixteen years ago she came to reside with her daughter by whom she has been tenderly cared for since that time. She leaves to mourn her passing besides the daughter, five sons, Walter, Alfred, Bert, Charles and Harry Hilton, all of St. Albans, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the church Friday at 10 a.m. A.R. Burton of Hartland having charge of the arrangements. Rev. W. H. Dunham was the officiating clergyman. The floral offerings were profuse and very beautiful. Interment was made beside her husband at St. Albans village.
