Obituary
JOSEPH GILBERT Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Anne's Catholic Church for Joseph Gilbert, 83, who died at Hartford, Conn., hospital last Thursday night. The Rev. Josaphat Sevigny officiated. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Bearers were: Robert, Roger and Norman Gilbert, and Neilan Chevery, all of Dexter; Arthur Gilbert, N. Vassalboro; and Charles of New York City. Mr. Gilbert was born at St. Joseph, Canada, Nov. 10, 1871, son of Thomas and Mary Dulac Gilbert. He was a former member of the Macabees. Practically all of his life was spent in Dexter until about 10 years ago when he went to Hartford to live at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Zephrine Landry. He is survived by four sons, Clifford, Reginald, Philip and Donald, all of Dexter; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Pullyard, of Dexter. Mrs. Florence Small of New York, Mrs. Zephrine Landry of Hartford, Conn., a brother, Louis Gilbert, St. Albans, Vt., two sisters, Mrs. Ina Cloutier, Mrs. Millie Trundy, both of Dexter; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Among other out-of-town relatives and friends were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Landry, Jerome Landry and Mrs. Gertrude Scwikler, all of Hartford, Conn., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Small, New York City; Louis Gilbert, St. Albans Vt., Mr. and Mrs. Omar Gilbert, Wilton; Mr. and Mrs. James Michaud, Waterville; Mrs. Nellie Williams, Mrs. Virginia Crawford,, Mrs. Warren, all of Dover-Foxcroft; the Rev. Leonard LeClair, Togus; Mr. and Mrs. William Steeves and family of Millinocket.
