Obituary
The messenger of death again visited our community when God saw fit to call Home our deer friend and neighbor, J. Lincoln Felker. The bereaved family has our heartfelt sympathy. We live in a world where solemn shadows are continually falling upon our path-shadows that teach us of the uncertainty of all temporal blessings and warn us that "here there is no abiding stay." However, we have the blessed satisfaction of knowing that death cannot enter that sphere to which the departed are removed. If we let hope and faith mingle with our natural sorrow we may look to the future comforted, where the sundered ties of earth are reunited. Mr. Felker was born in Starks, Me., Dec. 2, 1859, the son of the late William and Margaret Felker. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bane of Ripley, May 31, 1893, and has since lived in Ripley. He was a devoted husband and father, and was respected by everyone who knew him. He leaves to mourn their losss, a wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Felker, a daughter, Miss Doris Felker, two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Sevey, of Dexter and Mrs. Volney Bragg of St. Albans; two brothers, Frank and Roscoe Felker of Ripley, besides several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held at 2 oclock Wednesday, Sept. 16th, from the house. Mr. Felker being a member of the F. and A.M. lodge of Crambridge, the Masonic ceremony was conducted by that lodge. The remains were interred at the West Ripley cemetery. The bearers were his four brothers-in-law, Jeptha Bane, Charles Bane, Ernest and Hiram Bane, Jr. There were many beautiful flowers, silent token of love and esteem.
