Obituary
The community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Lois Woodcock, which occurred Saturday night a little after 6 o'clock, after a lingering illness. In her death, the town has lost a good woman. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, a kind and generous neighbor, always ready to sacrifice for those in need. She was a charter member of the Ripley Grange. Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and two children, Dorothy and John, and three brothers, Bennie Peakes of Dover-Foxcroft, Thomas Peakes of St. Albans and John Peakes of Massachusetts, besides several nieces and nephews and an aged mother-in-law, Mrs. Ann Woodcock. Interment was in St. Albans. Rev. Wm. Garner of Dexter officiated. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Peakes of Dover-Foxcroft, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peakes of St. Albans, Mr. and Mrs. John Peakes of Massachusetts, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Woodcock of Newport, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hilton of St. Albans, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanson of Cambridge. The grange was well represented to pay their last respects to the departed sister.
