Obituary	Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon over the remains of Mrs. Merlie Southards of Fairfield conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.A. Corey of Dexter. The interment was in the family lot, there were many floral tributes testifying to the esteem in which she was held. Mrs.. Southards was form- Miss Merlie Chadbourne of Ripley, where she has many friends who are saddened by her sudden and early death. She leaves a husband and two small children, a father, George Chadbourne, of Newport, two sisters. Mrs. Hannie Eaton, of Bangor, and Miss Blanche Chadbourne, of Boston, and a half-sister and brother Fern and Elwood Chadbourne, of Dexter, to morn her loss, besides many other relatives and friends, who have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.
