Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ann, widow of the late Harrison Jones, died Tuesday, Oct. 10th, at the home of her son, John Jones of Ripley, with whom she lied, at the advanced age of 92 years, after three weeks illness, She was born in Ripley, attending the public schools of that place and securing what then was considered sufficient learning to make a success of life. While devoting her life to the care of her household and children, being particularly domestic in her nature, yet she found ample time and opportunity to perform many deeds of kindness and charity to those less fortunately situated and thereby endeared herself to hosts of neighbors and friends who sincerely regret her death. All efforts to help other was done without ostentation for display, butt preeminently for sweet charity sake. Though having attained to a remarkable age, yet till her resent illness she possessed her faculties to a remarkable degree and exercised a supervision over the manifold household duties. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Reed of Concord, N.H., one son and three daughters: viz: Mrs. Emily Weymouth of Corinna, Mrs. Maria M. Mitchel and Miss Carrie M. Jones of Saco and John Jones with whom she made her home. The funeral took place at the home Thursday, Oct. 12th, the Rev. Mr. Ham of Cambridge officiating and was largely attended by relatives and friends
