Obituary
Died in Ripley, Nov.14th, Mrs. Olive Prescott, aged 75 years. She as born in Ripley March 2nd 1830, the daughter of John and Olive Hoyt Hale. With the exception of five years spent in Lawrence, Mass., and one year in California, her long life has been passed in this town. Faithfully has she cared for the aged and dependent ones. She was married early life to John Prescott, who passed away some 20 years ago. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Courser of Haverhill, Mass, and five grandsons, James, Charles Foster, Clayton and John Courser of Haverhill, Mass.; one brother, George W. Hale, of Sonora, California , and one sister Miss C.B. Hale of Bangor. Mrs. Prescott was a kind neighbor and friend, ever ready to lend a helping hand in sickness and trouble. She will be missed and mourned by a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Nov. 17th, Rev. T. Ernest Ham of Cambridge officiating. Among the many beautiful floral offerings were 75 pinks denoting the years of her life, a cross from friends and neighbors , a bouquet of white carnations from the W.C.T.U. friends.
