Obituary	Hannah B. Hoyt, Ripleys oldest citizen passed away at her home Monday evening, Jan 11. She was 89 years, 5 months and 7 days. Mrs. Hoyt was born in St. Albans, August 4, 1825, the oldest of a family of eight children, all of whom have passed on before. When a small child her parents moved to Ripley where she lived until her death. For nearly twenty years Mrs. Hoyt has been a cripple, being tenderly cared for by her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Felker. Although able to walk only by the aid of a crutch, her hands have never been idle and many a pair of mittens and stockings has she knit for young and old. All of whom knew and loved "Aunt Hannah" Mrs. Hoyt has been a loving, tenderhearted mother and grandmother and the warmest sympathy is tendered to son, daughter and grandchildren who have been a comfort to her in her last days. Mrs. Hoyt was a kind neighbor and friend always ready and willing to assist those in need of help. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Felker, a son, William Hoyt , six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends in whose hearts she was held dear. Funeral services were held Thursday forenoon from her late residence. Rev. Stanley Gates Spear officiating.
