Funeral Saturday For Mrs. Higgins Mrs. May (Mower) Higgins, 94, died at her home on Free street Wednesday evening, March 23. Services will be held at the Crosby Funeral Home, Saturday at 2 p. m., the Rev. A. Allan Brough officiating. She was born May 24, 1860, in St. Albans, the daughter of Jesse and Angeline (Brown) Mower. She attended Castine Normal School and later conducted a millinery shop in Lisbon. In 1885 she married Clarence Higgins and they lived on a farm in Corinna until they moved to Dexter 30 years ago. Mrs. Higgins was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church. Since living in Dexter her whole life had been centered around her home. Although she had not participated in outside affairs for many years, she always had a keen interest in civic activities and in the welfare of her many friends. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Linnie Higgins and Mrs. Angie Percival of Dexter, one grandson, Richard, of Hampden, Va., two great grandsons and one nephew, Merle Foster, Pasadena, Calif.
