Myrtle Ballard Dexter friends of Miss Myrtle Ballard, of St. Albans will regret to learn of her death recently at the Sisters’ Hospital in Waterville. She had been in ill health for several months. Miss Ballard was born in Gardiner twenty-two years ago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ballard, and moved to St. Albans with her parents when she was very young. She graduated from N. H. Fay High school in 1937 after which she was employed at Wall Street Market for a year before going to Hartland where she worked for Baxter Canning Co. until ill health caused her to resign. While in Dexter she made her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hanford Crouse. Besides her parents she is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Clark of Southwest Harbor; Mrs. Beryl Philips of Augusta; Miss Adeline Ballard, who is attending N. H. Fay High school, and Misses Frances, Florence and Joan of St. Albans; five brothers, Elbridge of Washburn; Byron, Donald, Sheldon and Harry Jr. of St. Albans. Funeral services were held from the home in St. Albans and interment was in St. Albans’ cemetery. The bearers were the brothers Elbridge, Byron, Donald, and Sheldon.
