STANTON L. MCCOURT DEXTER - Stanton L. McCourt, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, March 11, 2010. He was born August 27, 1937, in Wilton, son of Allen and Winnifred (Howell) McCourt. Stan served in the US Marine Corp. for 4 years. He also worked for R.C. Whitney Oil Company for many years as a delivery man, and later worked for SAD 46 as a bus driver. The job that he really was passionate about was operating McCourt’s Gym, where he enjoyed lifting weights and meeting with his friends. He was an active member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, and loved spending time with his church family. He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Margaret (Amsden) McCourt in 1991, and his stepson, Thomas Adams in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Harvey) McCourt of Dexter; a son, Dale McCourt and his wife, Leslie of NC; 3 daughters, Debra Mountain and her husband, Timothy of Dexter, Teresa Page and her boyfriend, Garth Fugel of Corinth, and Hailee McCourt of Dexter; a stepson, Corey Adams and his fiancé, Jamie Sawtelle of Garland; 5 grandchildren, Marissa, Brooke, Crissy, Calley, and Nicholas; a brother, George McCourt and his wife, Priscilla of Dexter; 2 sisters, Evelyn Turner and her husband, Rex of Guilford, and Jane Hibbard Merrill and her husband, Charles, of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Sunday, March 14th, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter, with Pastor Stan Griffin officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt.
