HERBERT L. JOHNSON Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Herbert L. Johnson, 71, who died suddenly Sunday evening at the local hospital. The Rev. Hartwell Daley of the Methodist Church officiated. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb to await burial later at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Mr. Johnson was born in Wellington, May 5, 1883, the son of Edmund and Cynthia (Pike) Johnson. He had lived the greater part of his life in Dexter, and was employed as a machinist at the Fayscott Corporation. He was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church. Besides his wife, Helen (Richardson) Johnson, he is survived by two sons, Leslie of Lincoln, Leon of Dexter; one daughter, Mrs. Maurice Clement, Guilford; one stepson, Paul Johnson, Dexter; three step-daughters, Mrs. Oscar Burdin, Cambridge, Mrs. Miles Perkins, Southington, Conn., and Mrs. Leigh Dow of Orange, Mass., 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
