Obituary
DEXTER- Melvin T. Clukey, 92, passed away February 16, 2009, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born in Dexter, June 9, 1916, son of Thomas and Jennie (Pooler) Clukey. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter, and enlisted in the Air Corps in 1943. Melvin was a lifelong communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked as a weaver at the Abbott Woolen Mill for many years. Melvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, M. Helen (Chabot) Clukey of Dexter; a daughter, Jeanne and her husband Allen “Jack” Foster of Sidney; a grandson, Stephen Foster and a granddaughter, Jessica Foster; a sister, Angeline Berard of Waterville; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Lionel, Julian, Fabian and a sister, Jacqueline Brown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, February 20th, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter with the Rev. Fr. Mark Nolette, celebrant. Friends may call at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street in Dexter from 10 AM until the time of the service. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
