Obituary	CHARLES R. BATCHELDER DEXTER - Charles R. Batchelder, 88, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Dexter HealthCare. He was born March 31, 1920, in Hudson, N.H., the son of Lester W. and Carrie Batchelder. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in France. He came to Dexter in 1940 looking for work at Fay & Scott, where he stayed for 27 years. He retired from General Electric, Bangor. He was a self-taught electrician. Charles was a life member of the Masons and enjoyed that immensely. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor C. Batchelder; sons, Charles E. Batchelder and his wife, Eloise, of Gardiner and Richard L. Batchelder and his wife, Norma, of Dexter; five grandchildren, Ellen Batchelder of Paris, France and Michael Batchelder of Portland, Jessica Belanger of Lancaster, N.H., Jason Batchelder of Dover-Foxcroft and Nancy Batchelder of Dexter; three great-grandchildren, Viviana Belanger of Lancaster, N.H., Jason Eubanks and Justice Batchelder of Dover-Foxcroft; three sisters, Phyllis Clapper of North Carolina, Barbara Sanborn of Connecticut and Judith Ebert of Georgia; and three brothers, David Batchelder of New Hampshire, Norman Batchelder of Florida and Malcolm Batchelder of Connecticut. He was predeceased by a sister, Natalie Pattison; and three brothers, Donald, Edward and Richard Batchelder. A private burial service will be held in the spring at Dexter Cemetery.
