DEXTER AND DOVER-FOXCROFT- Anne Duncan Provost, 83, passed away peacefully, on April 23, 2009 at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, with her family by her side. Anne was born January 29, 1926, in Hartland, the daughter of Elbert and Corinne (Evans) Duncan Sr. Anne and her late husband, Clifford Provost Sr. were the proprietors of Provost Market in Dexter for many years. She also worked at Guilford Industries in Guilford, until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing beano. She loved spending time with her family and also with good friends at the Bakery in Dexter. Her lifelong friend Gladys Gilbert was an important part of her life. Anne was a member of the Golden Age Club and Widows Club of Dexter. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Jennifer Smith, and also her siblings, Marilyn Clukey and Bayne Martin. Anne is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon and her husband Denzel, Dyer of Greenfield, NH, and Deborah Smith and her husband, Alan of Sebec Village; 2 sons, Clifford Provost Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Lavonia, Michigan, and Stephen Provost and his girlfriend, Patte Bowman of Dover Foxcroft; 2 sisters, Jean (Duncan ) Garren of Colorado, and Alice Duncan, of Roswell New Mexico; 13 grandchildren, Amy Dyer Pineault, James Dyer, Samantha Smith Greenlaw, Garrett Smith, Christopher Provost, Bradley Darnell, Amanda Provost, Andy Provost, Benjamin Provost, Casey Provost, Jesse Provost, Alexander Provost, Aaron Provost and their mother, Suzanne Provost; 8 great-grand children, Sarah, Hannah, Emily and William Pineault; Luke and Emily Greenlaw and Ella and Lylla Smith; brothers, Elbert Duncan Jr. and his wife, Constance, Richard Martin and his wife, Martha, Roger Martin and his wife, Sharlene. We would like to thank the staff of Mayo Regional Hospital for their compassion and wonderful care to both Anne and her family.
