DEXTER - Mildred Hanson, 91, widow of the late Levi R. Hanson, died November 14, 2009 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born March 1, 1918 at Houlton a daughter of Guy and Ada (Armstrong) Foster. She graduated from Aroostook Central Institute, Class of 1936. After moving to Dexter she was employed for many years in the clerical department of Fay-Scott Landis Machine shop. She was a past matron and life member of Wassookeag Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Zephyrhills, Florida. Mildred is survived by 2 sons, Jay and wife Earlene of Winslow, Gary and wife Brenda of Ripley; a step daughter, Joyce and husband Marvin Jones of Madison; a sister Thea and husband George Stewart of Port Charlotte, FL; 9 grandchildren, Joni and husband David Boissonneault of Windham, Jon and wife Jennifer Hanson of Palmyra, Kathleen and husband Kevin Cushing, and Cindy and husband James Rose III, all of Hampton, NH, Jeffrey and wife Donna Hanson of Oakland, Michael and wife Debbie Breen of Athol, MA, Stacey and husband Kevin MacDonald of East Haddam, CT, Gregory Corson of Anson, Lisa LeClair of Madison; a niece, Heather Chick, and a nephew, Keith Garrison; 2 sisters in law, Lillian Hanson and Geraldine Landry; several cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Charlotte Russell, and a brother, Leland Foster. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 19th, at Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley. Following the committal service a celebration of life and refreshments will be held at the Ripley Grange with the Rev. Frank Twombly of Apollo Beach, Florida, officiating.
