SAMUEL ELDRIDGE MOORE 1857 - 1940 Samuel E. Moore was born in Dexter, Maine, the son of Pinkham and Elizabeth (Eldridge) Moore who lived in school district number ten. He died in Dexter, Monday, November 25, 1940, aged 83 years. On February 23, 1879, Mr. Moore united in marriage with Katherine E. Tait, the daughter of William and Margaret (Fairgreive) Tait, natives of Scotland. Mr. Moore always made his home in Dexter except for four years when he lived in Guilford, Maine. He worked many years for the firm of Eldridge Brothers, wood-workers, located on Grove Street in Dexter. Mr. and Mrs. Moore celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1929. Mrs. Moore died in 1936. They were both active members in the Universalist Church, of which Mr. Moore served as Deacon. Mr. Moore was a past Noble Grand of Plymouth Lodge, I. 0. O.F., a Past Chief Patriach of Silver Lake Encampment and a member of Canton Dexter and of Martha Washington Rebekah lodge.
