Obituary	EVA A. OWENS PHILLIPSBURG, NJ and DEXTER - Eva A. Owens, 87, of Philhipsburg, NJ, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at her home. Born: On July 1, 1922, in Dexter, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Albert Masscott and the late Rilla Cookson Masscott. Personal: Her husband of 60 years, James H. Owens, Sr., passed away December 9, 2006. She has lived in the Alpha and Phillipsburg area for the last 33 years. At one time, Eva worked at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ. She graduated from Guilford High School, Guilford, Maine. Eva served in the Women’s Army Corp, as a medical technician during World War II. She loved her flower garden; her greatest joy was being with her family and friends, especially spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memberships: Eva was of the catholic faith. She was a member of the Easton Garden Club, The Phillipsburg Senior Center, Penn Jersey Chapter of the Women’s Army Corp, Veterans Association that volunteers at Lyon’s Veterans Hospital. Survivors: sons, James H. Owens Jr., and his wife Estelle of Palmer Township, PA, Kenneth A. Owens, and his wife Janine of Jasper, NY daughter, Deborah A. Smith and her husband Jeffrey of Easton, PA; seven grandchildren, James Owens III, Holly Gerola, Heather Chine and her husband Chris, Joel Owens and his fiancé Melanie Degraw, Theresa Westerlund and her husband Karl, Amber Loveless, Candice Loveless; nine great-grandchildren, Riley Owens, Leo Cline, Noah Clime, Jade Eden, Stephanie Gerola, Joseph Gerola, Nicholas Gerola, Gus Westerlund. Two brothers, Jrances Martin and Gardner Bennett and two sisters, Hester Cunningham and Beatrice Lancaster died earlier.
