Obituary
Funeral Services Held For D. Stanton Ross Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thurs.) at the Crosby Funeral Home for D. Stanton Ross, well known Dexter and Garland citizen. The Rev. J. Robert Bath officiated. The body was taken to Auburn for cremation. He died Monday evening at a Bangor hospital following an illness of several months. He was born Dec. 26, 1901 in Turner, son of Mrs. Maude Hussey Ross of Portland and the late Superintendent of Schools Leland Ross. A graduate of Gardiner High School, Bates College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology at Cambridge, Mass., he taught at M. I. T., the University of Kentucky and Hatch Prep School, Dexter. Leaving the teaching profession, he was employed for a time by the Fayscott Corporation and more recently in the office of the Dumbarton Woolen Mill. He was a member of the First Universalist Church of Dexter, Penobscot Lodge No. 39, A. F. & A. M., Garland Grange and the Dexter Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marjorie (Seavey) Ross, Garland; his mother, Mrs. Maude (Hussey) Ross, and one sister, Miss C. Fern Ross, both of Portland.
