Leo J. Langlais DEXTER—Leo J. Langlais, 89, died April 30, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 9, 1924 in Grand Isle, a son of Charles and Sophie (Tardif) Langlais. He graduated from Van Buren High School and served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a German prisoner of war for 8 months. Leo was employed in the steel industry out of state and worked at Dexter Shoe Company for 14 years. He was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He is survived by a his wife of 66 years, Fern (Couture) Langlais of Dexter; 3 sons, Richard and wife Paula of Merrimack, NH, Edward and wife Sherri of Dexter, and Kenneth of Rockwood; 2 daughters, Elaine and husband John Seavey of St. Albans and Ann Langlais of Dexter; a brother, Lucien Langlais of NJ; 3 sisters, Jeanette Cassio of Howland, Louise Sears of GA, and Lucille Bradley of NH; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 59 Free Street, Dexter, with Rev. Fr. Kent Ouellette officiating. A military committal service will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Attn: Gift Processing, P. O.
