MRS. IRVING L. JACKSON NEWPORT, Dec. 29—Mrs. Minnie P. Jackson, 63, long prominent in the business, social, church and fraternal life here and in this section died suddenly this morning of a heart attack at her home. Born in Monson, her early life was In Dexter, for nine years in Corinna and the last 25 years in this village. For 22 years she operated Jackson's restaurant here, widely known to the local and traveling public, retiring from failing health last year. She was a member of Martha Washington Rebeckah lodge of Dexter, a charter member of Corinne chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Corinna, of the High Street Union church and the U.B.B. society of Newport. Surviving are her husband, to whom she was married 44 years ago; her daughter, Mrs. Gladys ;Bean and grandchildren, Barbara and Robert Bean, of Newport; her sister, Mrs. Maud Mason of Rockland; an aunt and uncle, Mrs. Maude Chadbourne of Dexter and Arthur Witham of Bangor, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at the residence Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, by Rev. J. W. Reynolds and interment in Mount Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. NEWPORT, Jan, 3—Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie P. Jackson, wife of Ervin L. Jackson were from her late home, Sunday afternoon by Rev. J. W. Reynolds. There was a very large attendance of friends, neighbors and representatives of organizations of which she was a member. The flowers were in profusion and very beautiful. The bearers were Kenneth Albee, Wade Upton, Earl Albee and L. W. Titcomb. Interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Dexter.
