Obituary	ROY BUXTON 79, Of Corinna, Dies At Dexter CORINNA, Jan. 1 — Roy Buxton, 79, died Sunday morning at a Dexter hospital. Born at Dexter; August 31, 1881, he was the son of Fred and Abby (Jennings) Buxton. He had resided at Corinna about 40 years, coming here from Groveton, N. H. Mr. Buxton was a retired funeral director. Mr. Buxton was a member of Parian Lodge of Masons here and past master of Polar Star-Lodge at Bath. He was a past district deputy grand master of the 22nd Masonic District. He was a member of St. John's RAC at Dexter. He was a past district deputy and member of Cleora Rebekah Lodge. He was past high priest of Royal Arch Chapter at Boothbay Harbor and a former member of Mt. Moriah Council at Skowhegan. He was a member and past patron of Corine Chapter, OES, and a member of Stone Esel Lodge of Corinna where he served as secretary for many years and was also a past noble grand. Mr. Buxton was an honorary member of the Maine Funeral Directors Association, a trustee and secretary of the trustees at Corinna Union Academy for more than 35 years; he served on the school board here; was town clerk at Corinna, election ballot clerk and a sealer of weights and measures. He was also a member of the Republican Town Committee. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mildred (Whitcomb) Buxton of Corinna; one daughter, Kathryn Pinkerton of Corinna; one son, Robert Buxton of Sangerville; one sister, Florence Buxton of Dexter; three grandchildren; nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Corinna Methodist Church with the Rev. Irving Koelker offliciating. Masonic services will be conducted by Parian Lodge.
