GEORGE 0. WILLARD RIPLEY - George 0. Willard, 82, died August 19, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 10, 1926 in Augusta, a son of Leonard and Eva (Lamson) Willard. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. George was employed for many years at Fay Scotf Oil, and later, Dexter Oil, retiring in 1991. He was an active member of Poulliot-Seavey Post American Legion, Penobscot Lodge Masons, and the Anah Shrine. George was predeceased by his wife Yvonne and son Merle. He is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Carol and Fred Sherburne of Dexter and Marcia and Bob Fogler of Exeter; 6 grandchildren, Erin Sherburn, Can and husband Chris Lyford, Travis and wife Kate Fogler, Liza and husband Brian Rienhardt, Jessica Willard and Chris Willard; 6 great grandchildren, Payson and Willis Rienhardt, Noah and Caleb Lyford, and Claire and Avery Fogler. George is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family would also like to thank his caregivers, Janice Ellis and Charlotte Leavitt. Funeral services were held 10 A.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter, with Pastor A. Maurice Neal officiating. Burial will be atthe Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, 1 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Poulliot-Seavey Post #53, American Legion, c/o Russell Titus, 13 Water Street, Dexter, ME 04930.
