Roy Curtis Lane Roy Curtis Lane, 44, died at the Eastern Maine General hospital in Bangor, Friday, July 26, after having been a patient there 26 days. He had been in poor health four years. He was the son of Ada and the late Reuben Lane, and was born May 30, 1896, at the farm home where he has always lived. This also was the birthplace of his son and his father. At one time he was a member of Penobscot Lodge, F. and A. M., also of Ripley Grange. Funeral services were held at the home Monday forenoon at 10:30 o'clock, Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson officiating. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The large attendance of friends and the many beautiful floral tributes gave testimony of the esteem in which he was held. The bearers were Charles Ellms, Maynard Eaton, Glen Arno, Homer Wilbur, Clyde Willard and Eugene Swanton. Surviving are his mother, his wife, Mrs. Marguerite Tewksbury Lane, a four year old son, Jerry, and a sister, Miss Doris Lane. Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Packard, Corinna; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tewksbury, Solon; Mrs. Joe Gilman, E. D. Tewksbury, Guilford; Mrs. Carl B. Williams, Bennington, Vt.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tibbetts, Lawrence Tibbetts, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wilbur, Mrs. Angie Crawford, Fred Ellis, Walter Eaton, Robert Eaton, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Hopkins, Mrs. Earl Crowell, Alton Stillings, Mrs. Carrie Safford, George Safford, Harry Hutchins, Seldon Strout, and Mrs. Eugene Swanton, all of Dexter.
