WILLIAM G. PETERS JR. DEXTER - William G. Peters, Jr., 66, husband of Patricia A. (Powell) Peters, died peacefully October 31,2007, at his residence, after an extended illness. He was born April 24, 1941, in Waterville, ME, ;he son of William Sr. and Aurora (Moen) Peters. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1958 and married Patricia A. Powell on June 13, 1959. Together they raised four children. Bill worked most of his life as an electrician, both in the Navy aboard the USS Archerfish submarine, and in the civilian sector after his military service. He taught industrial electricity classes at both Mount Blue High School in Farmington, ME, and at Lake Region High School in Naples, ME, in their vocational wings. In 1979, Bill started work as an electrical inspector in Las Vegas, NV, for he Clark County Building Department, retiring in 2004. Bill was a member of the National Sheriff's Association, American Legion Post No. 78, the National Rifle Association, and a 39-year member of the Waterville Elks Club. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a man of principle and honor, being one of our truly great Americans. He instilled these values in all is children. From his handshake to his hug, he was genuine, kind and sincere. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia of Dexter; his children, William Peters III of Bridgton, Barbara Blackburn and her husband Larry of Las Vegas, NV, Gary Peters and his wife, Kathy of Annapolis, MD, Penny [organ and her husband Bill of Puyallup, WA; 5 grandchildren, William Peters IV, Kasey Murphy, Kayla Blackburn, Steven Blackburn, and Christina Ingram; a great granddaughter, Brooklyn M. Peters; his sister, Bonnie Rogers and her husband Wayne, of Las Vegas, NV; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was conducted November 5, 307, at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, ME. arrangements by Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
