Funeral Today Of Morton L. Bullard Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thurs.) at the Methodist Church for Morton Leonard Bullard, 61, Dexter pharmacist, who died early Tuesday morning at his Pine street home after a long illness. The Rev. Hartwell Daley officiated. The Odd Fellows' service was conducted. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. He was born in Ripley, Sept. 23, l892, son of Mrs. Ina Tibbetts Bullard, now Mrs. Leavitt, and the late Edwin Bullard. He moved to Dexter at the age of 10 and was a graduate of Dexter High School. In 1915 he was graduated from the University of Maine, having completed a two-year course in pharmacy. For 16 years Mr. Bullard was employed as pharmacist in the drug store on Main street which he purchased two years ago. At one time he also was employed at the Dexter Pharmacy. Prominently identified with Odd Fellowship over a period of years, he was a past noble grand of Plymouth Lodge No. 65, IOOF, past chief patriarch of Silver Lake Encampment No. 30, IOOF, captain-elect of Canton Dexter No. 8, past district deputy Grand Master of District 19; and past district deputy Grand Patriarch. He was elected deputy Grand Master of Grand Lodge of Maine, IOOF, but resigned due to failing health. He attended the Methodist Church. Surviving besides his mother, Mrs. Ina Leavitt, of Hartford, Conn., are his widow, Garnet (Murray) Bullard; three sons, Edwin of Guilford, Albert with the U. S. Navy in Korea and John, stationed at the Presque Isle Air Base; one daughter, Mrs. Ina Carter, Dexter; two brothers, Arthur E. of W. Hartford, Conn. and Ray H. of Augusta, and seven grandchildren. note: photo accompanied article
