Albert L. Davis DEXTER, Oct., 10—Albert L. Davis, 63, one of Dexters most highly respected citizens and businessmen, died Saturday evening at a Bangor hospital, after a year of failing health. The deceased was born in Cochicuate, Mass. and came to Dexter in his childhood, where he has since resided. He attended the Dexter High school, after which he became associated with the drug business, and was employed in the drug stores owned by D. H. Mudgstt, E. A. Brewster, Amos A. Springall. Mr. Davis purchased the drug business of Mr. Springall, which he operated up to his death, except for a period when he formed a partnership with E.A. Wright, who later withdrew and located in Madison. For 45 years he was employed in the business section, 35 of which he operated his own store. Mr. Davis was always very interested in community affairs, and served three years as selectman, several years as a member of the school board, and had served one term in the legislature at Augusta. He was always interested in local sports. He was a member of the Dexter fire department for 45 years, serving a good part of the time as an engineer, and for 12 years was on call duty. He possessed a fine and congenial disposition with a wide circle of friends, and his passing will be deeply regretted. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Odd Fellows, and the Masonic frater-nity, including the Commandery. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Helen G. Davis; and a son, Pvt. Wilson A. Davis, who is located at a Georgia army camp. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, at the Free Baptist church.
