Obituary	JAMES HERBERT RAYNER 1874 - 1935 James Herbert Rayner was born in Dexter in 1874, always lived in this town and died here July 31, 1935. Had he lived fifteen days longer; he would have been sixty-one years of age. He was the only child of James Rayner, who was born in England, and Sarah Fitzgerald, a native of Dexter, and a member of that Fitzgerald family which played a large part in building up the young town of Dexter. Bert got his formal education in our town schools and was always a favorite with his teachers and schoolmates. He married Lou Smith and they had one daughter. He was an Odd Fellow and a member of the Knights of Pythias. He served as superintendent of cemeteries acceptably for eighteen years.
