Mrs. Harry W. Brawn Mrs. Vina M. Brawn wife of Harry W. Brawn passed away Sunday morn- ing at the home on Maple street, after a long period of illness extending over four years. Her courage and forti- tude have been marvelous to her friends, only equaled by the loving care and encouragement extended to her by her family who did all in their power to postpone the end. Mrs. Brawn, during the active years of her life, was prominent in fraternal, social and church movements of the village. She was the daughter of the late Seth Bessey and Mary Bessey, of this town who survives her daughter. She is survived also by her husband; a son, Hildon Brawn,a student at Bates college; a daughter, Miss Bea- trice Brawn; a sister, Mrs. Helen Moran, of Bridgton and two brothers, Elwood Bessey of Portland and May- nard Bessey of Dexter. She was 46 years of age. For many years she had been a faithful member of the Free Baptist church, of Dexter grange, Martha Washington Rebekah lodge and Wassookeag Chapter, 0. E. S. For a number of years she was lecturer of the grange and was a past noble grand of Martha Washington Rebekah lodge and last year was ap- pointed marshal of the Rebekah As- sembly of Maine but was unable to serve on account of ill health. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home at 2 o’clock, under the auspices of Martha Wash- ington Rebekah Lodge. Rev. W. H. Dunham of the Methodist church spoke words of comfort.
