Obituary	GALEN W. HILL Notice was recently received here of the death earlier this season in Massachusetts of Galen W. Hill, a native of Dexter. Some of the older residents will recall his parents, Jere M. Hill, who was principal of Dexter High School from 1878 to 1883, and Mary (Creasey) Hill. The following fine tribute is quoted from the August bulletin of The Maine Library Association: "Maine shared with Massachusetts the loss, some months ago, of Galen W. Hill, librarian since 1927 of the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy. Mr. Hill was born in Dexter, Maine, and gave his profession notable service. His competent administration and quiet accomplishments meant increasingly fine library service for his community and enriching friendships for him. Quincy and the library world will miss his presence, vision and constant aim to increase the library's worth and influence."
