Obituary	FRANKLIN GLIDDEN RIPLEY — Franklin Elton Glidden, 69, died Monday in a Portland hospital. He was born in West Enfield, June 27, 1898, the son of William H. and the late Susan (Grant) Glidden. Glidden lived most of his life in Dexter. He moved to Ripley eight years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Thelma A. Glidden of Ripley; two sons Horace W. (Tony) Glidden of Ripley and the Rev. Dale Glidden of Lancaster, N. H.; his father, William H. Glid- den of Dexter; one brother, William J. Glidden of Ripley; five sisters, Mrs. Olla Libby of Augusta, Mrs. Annie Brann of Dexter, Mrs. Charlotte Vulner of Dover-Foxcroft, Miss Rena Glidden and Mrs. Evelyn Mar- tindale, both of Bangor; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, with the Rev. Philip Mather officiating. Burial will be in the West Ripley Cemetery. Friends may call at the fu- neral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
