Obituary	JOHN F. McEWEN DEXTER — John F. Mc- Ewen, 74, died Wednesday morning at his residence follow- ing a long illness. He was born in Bangor, Nov. 4, 1894, the son of John and Mary (Feeham) McEwen. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Poulliot- Seavey Post, a communicant of St. Ann's Catholic Church, and retired in 1965 from the U.S. Immigration Service after serv- ing along the New York, Maine and Texas borders. He resided in Dexter since his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Althea (Church) McEwen of Dexter; two sons, John of Mill- inocket and Donald of Dexter; three sisters, Mrs. Carl H. Brennan, Miss Ethel McEwen and Miss Mildren K. McEwen, all of Bangor; one brother, Joseph of Bangor, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lucien Mandeville officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Friends may call at Crosby Funeral Home Thursday after- noon and evening.
