MRS. ESTELLA MELVIN DEXTER — Mrs. Estella Melvin, 50, died at a local hos- pital Dec. 8 following a long illness. She was bom in Readfield April 22, 1920, the daughter of George and Addie (Norton) Jackson. She had lived in Dex- ter for 13 years, having moved here from Corinna. She had been employed in woolen mills and restaurants in the area. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Addie Jackson; one son, Alfred of Dexter; three daugh- ters, Mrs. Charlotte Crocker of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Thelma and Tammy, both of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dyer of Bangor and Mrs. An- nette Sawyer of Exeter; four brothers, Silas of Exeter, Elmer, Corinna, Paul, Newport and, Robert, who is in the armed services in Germany; five grandchildren; aunts, uncles and nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be Fri- day at 10:30 a.m. at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, with the Rev. Philip Mather officiating. Burial will be in the Exeter Center Cemetery.
