CHARLES F. HAINES DEXTER—Charles Favor Haines, 58, died at a Dexter hospital Monday following sev- eral months illness. Born at Dexter March 9, 1907, he was the son of Dr. Charles H. and Mrs. Susanne (Gove) Haines. He was a lifelong resi- dent of Dexter. A graduate of N. H. Fay High School in the class of 1924, he conducted a poultry business in this area for many years. He was a veteran of World War Two and entered the Armed Services in 1942, serving in the combat infantry in Africa and the Middle East for three years. He was awarded the Purple Heart. For the past 15 years, he own- ed and operated the Army-Navy Store at Dexter. He was a mem- ber of the First Universalist Church. He also was a member of Poulliott-Seavey. Post, Amer- ican Legion, and at the time of his death held the post of adjut- ant. Survivors include his mother; his wife, Mrs, Alfreda (Flewell- ing) Haines; and four cousins. Funeral services will be con- ducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Crosby funeral home with the Rev. Gordon F. Pariin of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be later in the spring..
